The Coffee Job
People are probably wondering how is it like working at Starbucks. Well,
aside from getting free coffees, i myself, am not very sure( YET) as i still got to attend some lessons(study's back) before officially start working.
On Monday (which was my "1st day"),
i was given the treatment of their so-call "first impression" which every new dudes will receive. I arrived 0930, half an hour earlier than i should. It's not because im too kan cheong or something ok, it's just pure wrong timing. But anyway, it's a pleasant thing anyway.
Upon reaching, Janet(my manager) was kind of shocked to see me reaching 30mins earlier, told me to go to the back 1st and take a look around. Both of Rasydin's cousins were there( which one of them was a Ex-Riversidian).
They were actually quite fun as i remembered one of them carried something in while singing (OH WHAT YOU'VE DO TO ME~ OH WHAT YOU'VE DO TO ME~) in a funny tone. After browsing around,
i realized that Starbucks is very discipline. They will have all sort of rules on the walls, motivational messages and stuffs. That pretty much explains their success - By treating their workers more than only workers.
Later, i was taught by Janet (
my pretty manager) some basics of Starbucks, like the expectation and staffs. One interesting part i remembered was that
i was taught how to taste a cup of coffee. There are 3 steps, which im too lazy to explain. Well, i'll be looking forward to work, while enjoying myself there.
P.S. the coffee i tasted sucks - bitter coffees are certainly not my cup of coffee. (man did u, did you see that? i should have said "not my cup of tea", but instead, i replaced the word with "coffee". So i said "not my cup of coffee". You know, it fits so well as im working in Starbucks. Go on, go and and spread the joke... go on! i Bet they'll love it.
